Unicycling milestones

This post is to document the various milestones I achieve/plan on achieving, on a unicycle. When I complete these, I’ll strike them out and update with the date I completed them.

  1. A single ride of at least 5 kilometers. [2020-04-30]
  2. A ride of 5 kilometers or more, within an hour. [2020-04-30]
  3. A single ride of at least 10 kilometers. [2020-05-06]
  4. An average speed of 7.5 km/h or better, over a training session of 45 minutes or more. 2020-05-27
  5. Unicycling backwards, upto 30 revolutions.
  6. Making turns while riding backwards.
  7. Riding a distance of 1.5 km or more, without stopping/dismounting; idling would be okay. 2020-05-27
  8. Changing directions four times without stopping/dismounting. In each direction, a minumum of five half revolutions, before switching direction. ex. if I start rolling forward, I need to roll at least five half revolutions forward, before rolling backwards, forwards again, and finally backwards again, with at least five half revolutions during each leg.
  9. Learning to hop: 25 times successively 2021-04-14
  10. Learning to hop: start a hop from stand-still
  11. Learning to idle: idle twenty cranks or more. 2020-07-15
  12. One-footed idling: 10 crank revs or more
  13. One-footed riding: 10 crank revs or more
  14. One-footed riding with either foot.
  15. A single ride of 30 kilometers or more. 2021-02-26
  16. An average speed of 10 km/h or better, over a ride of 45 minutes or more. 2021-04-19
  17. An average speed of 14 km/h or better, over a ride of 45 minutes or more.
  18. Reaching a top speed of 16 km/h or better without resulting in a UPD.
  19. A single ride of 50 kilometers or more.
