Hare raising tale
After staying cooped up for the better part of the weekend, I decided to step out for a long walk. I thought I’d explore Tornby, as it has a couple of nice shopping centers and a bike store. The store lights were fairly large and visible from a long way away and I just walked towards them, only to find that they were on the other side of the highway and I couldn’t possibly walk across it! The GPS came to the rescue though, pointing me the way to the underpass, and it was smooth sailing, er, walking, from there!
After checking out the location of the bike store (Biltema), I went to the ICA MAXI supermarket. Some shopping and a wolfed down MacD burger later, I’d started to make my way back home when I spotted some movement on the sidewalk. It was clearly a couple of animals. I’d spotted a couple of deer on an earlier occasion (no, I didn’t get to see if the deer were spotted!), but that was near a forested area. This however, was as urban a setting as it could possibly get.
I strained my eyes to see them as best as I could, and suddenly, they stopped prancing about and stood up, allowing me to catch their silhouette! They were two bunny rabbits or hares! They were the size of large puppy dogs and they certainly had long ears! Since I only got to see their outlines, I can’t be sure of the color of their fur, but I think it was white. It seemed as if they were surprised to see me paying so much attention to them! “What does this guy want? Does he expect us to put on a show for him or something??! ”, the rabbits/hares seemed to be thinking to themselves, as they stayed still for an exaggerated period of time. Alas, their patience/curiosity didn’t last long enough for me to set my shopping bags down and pull out my camera! Even if I’d done so, I guess I’d only have got some really dark/grainy images of the two carefree animals! That then was the ‘hare-raising’ experience with which I brought my otherwise boring weekend to an end!
