Okay, people! I have an update! I bought my first Transformer toy! Having grown up as a kid, wondering what that peculiar toy truck that could be twisted to form a robot was all about, it was only after I saw the movie Transformers as an adult, that I realized what the toy was actually about! The toy was a version of Optimus Prime(now 20+ years old and still in pristine condition!), one of the key characters of the Transformers storyline. It must be a collector’s piece today and worth quite a bit of a fortune on ebay!
My toy (which may well be a collector’s piece twenty years from now!) is of ‘Autobot Drift’. This is what it looks like, in the ‘Sports car mode’
and this is what it looks like, in 'Autobot Drift' mode:
Quite amazing, no? It wouldn't make much sense gifting it to kids for whom it's just another toy to pull apart and toss away but might make great sense to pick it up if you are a geeky-nerd (or you know one of them), for having one of these mounted atop your swank 23+ inch monitor is a sure-fire way to get all fellow geeks green-eyed!
(In case any of you feel the urge to gift me with a Transformers toy, please do indulge that urge! :D)
Oh, I mentioned games too. Here's an update about my flying adventures on Lock On: Modern Air Combat
Q) What does a sim fighter pilot who is really good do, to get an adrenalin fix?
A) Instead of flying at 45,000 feet, he executes a low pass over a city below, much like this:
and oh, he spots several longish straight roads. He likes what he sees and proceeds to deploy his landing gears.. and you guessed it, plans his landing approach, like this:
Hmm.. The decision is made: He's coming down, one way or the other. He intends to land safely, though. A few feet from terra-firma, this is how it looks:
Did he make it? Oh yes, he lives, to fly another day! A nice touchdown, if I may say so myself!
And now that he is down safely, he can sit back, relax, and watch cars go by!
I hope you had fun seeing these pics! I certainly had fun flying, and putting these pictures together!
