Merry Christmas

December 24, 2007

Christmas eve. Brings back lots of nostalgic memories, like these below:

  1. Weather in my hometown Bangalore, just a bit chilly, but beautifully clear, star-studded skies in the night. How I wish I could be on my rooftop tonight, gazing at the night sky and maybe getting inspired to write poetry.

  2. The carol-singing at school, the Christmas Pageant (the Nativity play) in which I took part in, four years in a row, essaying a different role each time. The parts were fiercely fought over and the auditions were really tight. Those were really good times.

  3. Richly marinated Plum cake from Java City and Koshy’s, hmmmm. Heavenly!

  4. Attending midnight mass in the church on Infantry Road, with my friends. Seeing M.G Road, Brigade Road and Residency Road all lit up and bustling with activity even at that hour, combined with the festive atmosphere make for something truly special.

So, here’s yours truly wishing all his friends a very memorable and merry Christmas. May the bonhomie and Yuletide spirit flow. And speaking of spirits, enjoy yourselves but drive safely and responsibly.

Cheers! Prash Chengi.
